URGENT NOTICE & REMINDER TO ALL BOWLING CLUBS: At the recent BCGBA Management Meeting, it was passed that all clubs must comply with their BYE LAW 5g handbook page 42 which states 'EVERY CLUB MUST HAVE A NAMED SAFEGUARDING OFFICER WHO HOLDS A CURRENT DBS. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN APPROPRIATE PENALTY' THIS BYE LAW WILL TAKE EFFECT ON THE 1ST MARCH 2019. The penalties will be a fine of 25, to be 50 after a further 3 months, then 75 for next 3 months rising to 100 after 1 year plus your club would be suspended from playing! Obviously we do not wish anyone to be fined or suspended so its is imperative that appropriate action be taken now. At the North Lancs & Fylde County Management meeting, Roy Atkinson, agreed to undertake the post of County Safeguarding Officer and is willing to help any of our clubs who may need assistance in making sure they comply before the above deadline. He can assist you in organising the relevent course that all club nominated persons need to attend in order to fulfill their role as club Safeguarding Officer. In the next few days, he will inform us of the available courses in the North Lancs & Fylde County area. For more information, visit the Safeguarding Menu page.
